FAQ for Makers
Would you like your work featured in the Celebrating Women Luthiers Exhibit?
The dates of the Exhibit are:
Huthmaker Violins (Atlanta, GA) March 17-26, 2022
Brobst Violins (Alexandria, VA) April 1-16, 2022
Vermont Violins (South Burlington, VT) April 25- May 7, 2022
Application Fee: $25.00 per maker (non-refundable)
Instruments/Bows to be sent for exhibit:
Limit of 4 instruments or bows per applicant.
There is no limit on the date the instrument/bows were made.
The Exhibit will start in Georgia with ten days of display and three special events:
Friday, March 18, 2022 - Meet the Makers Open House
Saturday, March 19, 2022 - Panel Discussion and Maker’s Dinner (compliments of Huthmaker Violins).
Sunday, March 20, 2022 - Instrument and Bow “Taste Test”
The Exhibit will be advertised in Strings Magazine*, Strad Magazine*, on social media platforms and in a mail-out throughout the Southeast. Posters for the event will be made.
Registered makers will have access to print media for their own publicity.
1) Shipping to and from Huthmaker Violins is the financial responsibility of the Maker.
2) Participants must provide press-ready bio and photos (minimum dpi 300)
3) Participants must sign a photo/video release.
4) Participants in residence at Huthmaker Violins during the first weekend are financially and logistically responsible for their own lodging and transportation.
Instruments and Bows will be placed on consignment for the duration of the Exhibit.
Makers will provide pricing and Hosting Shops will charge 20% consignment fee for each sale.
All sales are subject to a 6% sales tax in Georgia and applicable sales tax in other Exhibit locations
